The sale of organs should be allowed.
The sale of organs has became a controversial issue during the last decades. The number of patients requiring an organ's transplant has increased and, as a consequence, the long waiting list for organs transplant is each time a big issue needing a prompt solution.
On the other hand, arguments in favor of financial incentives for organ donation have arose hoping that this system could increase the supply of organs, and at the same time, secure the ethical concern of saving lives.
Some points around this discussion topics can be considered such as: medical issues, religious issues and the patient's suffering.
Regarding medical issues, we can mention that the risk for the transplant procedure can be equal for the donor and the patient, nevertheless, for patients there is a big hope to improve their condition when they are operated no matter the risks. As patients can improve, there's always the possibility that the donor's health may be affected especially with kidney transplants.
With respect to the religion, it can be said that the idea that human parts can be traded for monetary benefits sounds terrible. As a matter of fact, people who have a strong believe would disagree with that idea, no matter the benefits for the patients. However, some of them can be more flexible and open to accept the idea seeing that the most important thing is to save lives.
Another topic to consider is the patient's suffering, when they are in need of a n organ transplant, the wait is often long, painful and in some cases, fatal. However, new medical advances have allowed doctors to use substitute organs for example, from animals. Organ's transplants would be the only solution for a long-term, medical problem which means for the institutions in charge of undergo more intensive programs to, at least, try to make that this situation can alleviate patient's suffering.
To summarize, in light of some ethic considerations that emerge from this debatable issue and facing them to the medical ones, yet pragmatic solutions as financial incentives for donors and awareness programs, would have to be considered as the only ways in which it will be possible for patients to receive a necessary organ from a donor.
